Last minute pumpkin.

Last minute pumpkin.

It’s almost Halloween. Is it just me or did October fly by?  I did mange to get a few Fall décor items put up in the house, check those out here.

At some point this month, I made my way to Teske’s Pet and Garden to get a few odd pumpkins for the front porch.  Usually we would carve them or paint them in time for Halloween, but this year we ran out of time.

If you need a last minute pumpkin idea, this will only take you an hour.

You will need:
A pumpkin
Mod Podge
Paint brush
Old book pages
Scrapbook paper

Let’s get started!

(I apologize in advance for the yellowish photos – the lighting wasn’t great in the building.)

Clean your pumpkin and cut the book pages in the shape of a banana.

Glue (with Mod Podge) the paper to the pumpkin.

It’s ok if there are bumps, it adds character.

Cover your entire pumpkin with book pages and let it dry.

Use the stencils to cut out letters for your pumpkin. I did EKK! and BOO!

Use the Mod Podge to glue the letters on the pumpkin.

Glue (or attach in a different way) your spider to the pumpkin.

Tie some ribbon around the stem.

And that’s it! Easy as pie. Oh wait, that’s for our next holiday. Enjoy!

Did you do something creative with your pumpkin this year?  I’d love to hear about it!
