Holiday Storage.

whats-up-wednesday

It’s What’s Up Wednesday. Today I am digging – storage.

It’s the day before Thanksgiving.  In my house, that means it’s a day full of Christmas decor and Christmas music.  If you are looking for me, I will be decorating my tree, putting finishing touches on the decor around the house and singing and dancing to music.  Look for behind the scenes posts on my Instagram (of the tree, not me singing and dancing)!

It’s that time of year. Christmas is coming. Even if you don’t enjoy decorating, most people put something up for the holidays, right?  It’s the one time of year that I love to sit on my couch in complete silence and look at the lights. The decorations. The tree. The nativity set. The gifts. It’s truly magical.

Where does all of that ‘stuff’ go when it’s not in use?  In the garage? In the basement? In the back of a closet?

Everyone has those holiday items they love to display. Like the Santa Claus (made from a coffee can) your son brought home in second grade. But, there are also decorations that you have and you don’t necessarily like to display (like the Santa Claus your daughter painted when she was trying to be creative at a young age).

Without naming any names, the coffee can is on the left side of the TV.

Alas, all of these things have to be stored, safely, somewhere.

I like to be organized. And for me, that means buying tons of storage containers when they are on sale.

We have a cedar closet in our basement and a shelving unit made from with 2 x 4’s; both are perfect for storing things. So, all of my containers are labeled, and then stacked up perfectly, awaiting the time they get to be used again.
